What the pack covers

  • Getting here and who to contact

  • The session, results and prescribing
  • Emergencies, safety and safeguarding
  • Local services and handover

Your answers stay in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to FindALocum.

A blank locum induction pack you can use now

Preview the sections before filling in the builder, or download the editable text version. Both use the same checklist as the builder, including remote working and prompts for all four professions.

Complete and check the pack for the actual role and practice. It is an operational planning aid, not a completed induction or a clinical policy. Keep patient information, passwords, smartcard PINs and door codes out of it.

Locum GP first-session checklist →

Is the induction pack builder free?

Yes. Any practice can use it, whether or not you book locums through FindALocum.

Where are my answers saved?

Only in this browser on this device, so you can come back and update the pack. Nothing is sent to FindALocum. Use “Clear my answers” to remove them.

Can I leave parts blank?

Yes. Blank items show as “[To add]” so the pack works as a checklist. Tick “Leave out anything I haven’t filled in” for a finished version.

How often should we update it?

At least every six months, and whenever contacts, systems or procedures change.

Can I edit the pack after downloading it?

Yes. The Word version can be edited, so you can add your logo or anything specific to your practice.
