For GP practices, PCNs and pharmacy teams
Hire a locum pharmacist
Request pharmacy locum cover for your practice, pharmacy or hospital. Send the dates, hours and experience you need, with your setting and on-site, remote or hybrid arrangements. We’ll review the request and discuss suitable pharmacist availability.
For practice-specific requirements, see clinical pharmacists for GP practices and PCNs. Need another role? Explore GP, practice nurse and technician cover.

£19.99 + VAT per locum day
The booking fee applies to each locum for each booked calendar day they work, including part-days. The same fee applies to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, GPs and practice nurses. Prices exclude VAT. There’s no monthly subscription or charge to send an enquiry.
Your practice, pharmacy or hospital contracts with the pharmacist and pays them directly. Their pay and agreed expenses are separate from our booking fee, so confirm the full cost and the written terms before committing.

Prepare a community pharmacy cover brief
For each branch, record the actual dispensing workload, team present, PMR, responsible pharmacist expectations and clinical services booked. Name the service and UK country, then distinguish essential training or authorisation from experience that can be supported through induction.
Agree who arranges individual system access, meets the pharmacist and answers operational or professional questions. Record the rate, paid hours, expenses and cancellation terms alongside the dates so changes can be assessed before confirmation.
Use the pharmacist booking checklist and download the editable community pharmacy cover brief (TXT) to bring these details together.
Choose preparation for the actual setting
For a practice assignment, review on-site clinical pharmacist cover or remote practice pharmacist cover. For a hospital department, use the hospital pharmacist induction checklist. If your requirement is for a technician, describe the duties on the technician cover page.

Checks and standardsBooking and fee questions
How much does it cost to book a locum?
Our booking fee is £19.99 + VAT per locum for each booked calendar day they work, including part-days and remote sessions. Prices exclude VAT. The practice or hiring organisation contracts with and pays the locum directly, including agreed expenses. Our fee is separate from those payments and applies to all four professions.
Is there a monthly subscription?
No. The practice or hiring organisation pays our booking fee for the locum days worked, whether that is one day of cover or several.
Is registration free for clinicians?
Yes. GPs, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and nurses pay no registration or work-finding fee. The practice or hiring organisation contracts with you and pays you directly, and pays our booking fee separately from your agreed rate and expenses.
Which general practice roles do you work with?
We take enquiries for GPs, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and practice nurses, including remote, on-site and hybrid arrangements. Tell us the work involved so we can assess the experience, skills and availability required.
Does sending a request confirm my cover?
No. We need to agree a suitable locum, the dates, requirements, pay and terms before confirming a booking. Cover depends on availability.
Can every role be carried out remotely?
No. Remote cover depends on the duties, access to records, individual competence and the practice’s arrangements for supervision, escalation and handover. Examinations, vaccinations, wound care and other hands-on work need appropriate on-site cover.
Do you still handle community and hospital pharmacy enquiries?
Yes. General practice is our main focus, and we also take community and hospital pharmacy enquiries. Use the relevant pharmacy service page to specify the setting and experience required.
