About the role

FindALocum runs on cloud services that hold sensitive information about locums and practices. As our IT & Systems Administrator, you’ll keep our office technology working and make sure each person has the access their job needs, and no more.

You’ll be the first point of contact for IT at our Leeds head office, and you’ll help manage the settings and security of the cloud services our website runs on.

What you’ll do

  • Set up and support staff laptops, phones, printers and the office network.
  • Create, change and remove staff accounts for email, office software and our admin portal, and review access regularly.
  • Make sure staff use strong passwords and two-step sign-in, and that devices are encrypted and up to date.
  • Help manage our domain, email and cloud service settings, including Cloudflare.
  • Look after backups, keep a record of our equipment and software licences, and manage renewals.
  • Respond to IT problems and security incidents, and keep clear records of what happened and what was done.
  • Help us meet data protection and security standards, such as Cyber Essentials.
  • Write simple guides so colleagues can solve common problems themselves.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in IT support or systems administration.
  • Good knowledge of Windows and macOS, cloud email and office software, and basic networking.
  • An understanding of security basics: access control, two-step sign-in, updates and backups.
  • The ability to explain technical problems in plain English.
  • Good organisation and record keeping.
Remote sessions start with secure access, a named contact and escalation agreed in advance. Remote locum cover →

Useful but not essential

  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
  • Experience with Cloudflare, DNS and email settings.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Essentials or ISO 27001.
  • Scripting experience, such as PowerShell or Python.

What we offer

  • £30,000 to £36,000 a year, depending on experience
  • Permanent, full-time: 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday
  • Based at our Leeds head office: West Court Offices, Park Lane, Allerton Bywater, WF10 2FY
  • 28 days’ paid holiday, including bank holidays
  • Workplace pension
  • Full training on our systems, checks and processes

About FindALocum

FindALocum helps GP practices, pharmacies and hospitals find locum GPs, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and practice nurses. Practices post shifts and pay a flat booking fee for each locum day. Locums register free and are paid directly by the practice. Our Leeds head office handles the checks, bookings and support behind every shift.
